Position Overview

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead warehouse operations at its Mandan Refinery. This role is responsible for building a best-in-class warehouse operation that supports refinery reliability, maintenance efficiency, and supply chain excellence, while aligning material management strategies to business priorities.

Key Leadership Expectations

  • Establish and lead a strategic vision for warehouse operations focused on efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Build a high-performing, value-driven warehouse organization that directly supports maintenance productivity and operational uptime.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and achieve best-in-class performance.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, engagement, and talent development.
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain stakeholders.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive cost optimization and value capture through inventory management and operational efficiencies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, and logistics execution.

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies to optimize warehouse performance and inventory management.

  • Develop and execute material management plans for turnarounds and projects.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory through effective controls, cycle counts, and audit readiness.

  • Partner cross-functionally to align material management with operational and maintenance requirements, supporting maintenance efficiency and reducing downtime.

  • Oversee workforce planning, training programs, and staffing to ensure capability and performance.

  • Develop and manage warehouse budgets, forecasts, and maintain financial discipline.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) or more years’ warehousing, material management, or relevant business experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams in an operational or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with material associated with the petrochemical industry (e.g., pipe, valves, fittings).
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and data-driven decision making.
