Job Description:

The Network Planner plays a critical part in shaping Retail Fuel Network footprint, enabling business expansion, improving customer access, and maximizing total customer value across Fuel, EV charging, and non-fuel retail.  The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network planning, drive data-informed actions, and support capital allocation. This role will also support the transition of network planning operations, ensuring a seamless handover to the acquiring company.

Commercial & Strategic Thinking: Demonstrates strong commercial and economic acumen to support business growth. Able to translate market dynamics into actionable strategies by assessing site potential, supply options, customer demand, and the competitive landscape. Develop integrated network master plans ensuring network performance assessment aligned with profitability target

Financial Modelling & Investment Evaluation: Builds robust business cases and evaluates investment opportunities using financial tools such as NPV, IRR, and VIR. Ensures recommendations are grounded in sound financial analysis and aligned with overall business and strategic objectives.

Project & Contract Management: Manages projects and contracts end-to-end, ensuring effective governance, cost control, and delivery against asset budgets. Tracks progress, identifies and mitigates risks, and drives continuous improvement to ensure efficient execution and value realization. Maintains clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of data-driven network masterplans to optimize site portfolio and support growth strategy.
  • Align capital investments with long-term growth and market opportunities.
  • Define and drive site-level actions to maximize overall network value.
  • Manage CAPEX investment proposals to ensure financial discipline.
  • Drive e-mobility growth and monitor performance across charging points.
  • Support transition planning and tool development for future network operations.

Requirements

  • Strong stakeholder management and project management capabilities, with the ability to align cross-functional teams, manage expectations, and drive projects from initiation to completion.

  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Experience in building automated tools and dashboards to support commercial decision-making is an advantage.

  • Solid foundation in financial planning, forecasting, and investment analysis, including the ability to develop strategic justification for investment and divestment decisions. Familiarity with financial and economic modelling tools is preferred

  • Familiarity with ArcGIS/spatial analysis tools and Power BI to support location planning, site evaluation, and network optimization is an advantage.  

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrates resilience and agility in dynamic, fast-paced market environments, with the ability to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities.
