About the Function

Over the last six years, Diageo has built and launched a groundbreaking Marketing Effectiveness (M&E) capability known as Marketing Catalyst, recognized globally by the IPA (Europe) and ANA (North America) for its pioneering work. This function enables marketers to measure and optimize every pound invested in marketing across ATL and BTL channels.

The Marketing Effectiveness team acts as a global center of excellence — managing tools, methodologies, and analytics while partnering with local markets and brand teams to drive better performance decisions across media, trade, and experiential marketing.

About the role

This role will lead the Marketing Performance & Effectiveness agenda across Eastern Europe, ensuring that every ATL and BTL investment delivers maximum return and learning.

You will be the regional expert for marketing performance management, embedding a culture of evidence-based decision making across the CEE/EE marketing organization. This includes defining how we measure, report, and act on performance across brand building (ATL) and commercial activation (BTL).

You will partner closely with brand teams, finance, media, and customer marketing to optimize both short-term sales performance and long-term brand growth.

Purpose of the Role

To create a high-performance culture of Marketing Measurement & Evaluation (M&E), ensuring marketing investment decisions across ATL and BTL are data-driven, insight-led, and deliver measurable business impact.

Top Accountabilities

  • Lead the delivery and tracking of marketing performance targets, ensuring all ATL and BTL investments are measured against clear KPIs.

  • Drive a behavioral shift across the marketing and commercial organization — embedding performance thinking in every plan and spend decision.

  • Manage and continuously evolve the regional measurement framework, aligning tools (Catalyst, Kantar, Nielsen, Power BI, etc.) for both ATL and BTL evaluation.

  • Partner with brand, media, and trade teams to analyze campaign effectiveness, optimize phasing and mix, and develop actionable insights.

  • Synthesize and present M&E insights to senior stakeholders to inform future budget allocation and strategy.

  • Leads BDM (Econometric model)

  • Support the development of standard reporting dashboards (monthly/quarterly) for ongoing campaign performance tracking.

  • Drive collaboration between global, regional, and local teams to ensure consistent measurement methodologies and shared learnings.

  • Identify new measurement opportunities — including integrating brand equity, ROI, and short- vs long-term performance metrics.

About You

  • 6+ years’ experience in marketing effectiveness, media analytics, performance marketing, or marketing consulting.

  • Strong understanding of both ATL (media, digital, PR) and BTL (trade, shopper, experiential) marketing measurement.

  • Proven ability to drive business change and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Exceptional analytical thinking with the ability to simplify complex data into clear actions.

  • Skilled communicator, confident presenting to senior audiences.

  • Self-starter with a passion for continuous improvement and measurable marketing impact.

  • Collaborative team player used to work across multiple stakeholders and geographies.
