Job description
Help us tackle the growing wildfire crisis with the latest advancements in AI and IoT
Who we are
The challenge: Every minute matters in wildfire response. As climate change increases the frequency and intensity of wildfires—with longer fire seasons, drier fuels, and more extreme weather—new ignitions can spread rapidly, putting communities, critical infrastructure, and ecosystems at risk. Today, many wildfires are first reported by members of the public, meaning it can take valuable time to detect a fire, confirm its location and size, and mobilize responders. Fire agencies need faster, more reliable ways to detect, verify, and pinpoint new ignitions so they can respond quickly and prevent small fires from becoming catastrophic events.
About Pano AI: Pano AI is the leader in AI-powered wildfire detection and intelligence, helping fire professionals detect, respond to, and contain wildfires faster and more safely. Our platform combines advanced hardware, software, artificial intelligence, satellite imagery, and other data sources to provide real-time situational awareness and actionable intelligence. Using a network of ultra-high-definition, 360-degree cameras positioned across high vantage points, Pano AI delivers a real-time view of wildfire activity, enabling faster, more informed decision-making when every second counts.
We are a team of more than 175 people working in a hybrid-remote environment across North America and Australia, with headquarters in San Francisco. Our customers include government agencies, utilities, insurers, and private landowners who rely on Pano AI to help protect people, property, and natural landscapes. Pano AI currently serves customers across the United States, Australia, and Canada, monitoring more than 50 million acres worldwide.
Our work has been recognized by Fast Company as one of the Top 10 Most Innovative AI Companies in 2023 and one of the World's Most Innovative Companies in 2026, ranking #1 in . We have also been named to TIME's list of the 100 Most Influential Companies of 2025 and recognized by MIT Technology Review as one of the top climate technology companies to watch.
Backed by $89 million in funding from leading investors including Giant Ventures, Liberty Mutual Ventures, Tokio Marine Future Fund, Congruent Ventures, Initialized Capital, Salesforce Ventures, and T-Mobile Ventures, we're building technology that helps communities around the world become more resilient to wildfire. The Role
As a Senior/Staff Product Manager at Pano AI, you will own and scale a critical component of our wildfire intelligence platform. Our technology enables emergency managers, utilities, and first responders to detect and respond to wildfires in near real time as climate risk and the Wildland Urban Interface continue to expand. You will take full ownership of a key product domain such as detection workflows, alerting systems, geospatial visualization layers, or emerging product lines. This is not a feature execution role. You will define the problem space, set strategy, prioritize tradeoffs, and drive outcomes end to end in close partnership with engineering, design, customer success, operations, sales, and executive leadership.
This role offers true domain ownership at company scale. You will operate with executive visibility and meaningful autonomy, shaping products that directly protect lives and infrastructure. As Pano continues to grow, you will have the opportunity to drive major initiatives, influence company direction, and advance your career based on impact rather than tenure. For product leaders motivated by mission, energized by building in fast scaling environments, and ready to move beyond incremental feature work, this role provides both purpose and accelerated growth.
What you’ll do
-
Own a critical product domain end to end, defining the problem space, success metrics, roadmap, and execution strategy.
-
Define and manage the entire product lifecycle from discovery and research through development, detailed specifications, launch, and post launch optimization.
-
Lead customer discovery efforts, including direct interviews, data analysis, and field feedback, to validate opportunities and inform prioritization.
-
Drive strategic initiatives that improve detection speed, alert relevance, geospatial clarity, or overall workflow efficiency for customers.
-
Make nuanced product trade off decisions grounded in user journeys, technical constraints, and long term platform strategy.
-
Present clearly and confidently in leadership forums, bringing structured thinking and evidence based recommendations.
-
Partner cross functionally with engineering, design, sales, marketing, customer success, and operations to ensure alignment from concept through delivery and adoption.
-
Proactively identify opportunities for innovation, including potential zero to one product initiatives as the company expands its product portfolio.
-
Monitor product performance using quantitative and qualitative data to continuously improve outcomes and user experience.
-
Elevate the product team by mentoring others, contributing beyond your immediate domain, and raising the bar for product thinking across the organization.
What you’ll bring
-
6 to 10 plus years of product management experience, with demonstrated ownership of a meaningful product surface area or platform component.
-
A track record of launching impactful products or major capabilities, ideally from early research through execution and adoption.
-
Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions respectfully and back decisions with data and customer insight.
-
Experience operating in ambiguous, fast growing, or startup environments where you have worn multiple hats.
-
Comfort presenting to and collaborating with executive leadership.
-
Strong customer discovery skills and the ability to translate insights into clear problem statements and actionable roadmaps.
-
High EQ, humility, and empathy. We operate with a no jerk policy and value collaboration over ego.
-
The ability to learn quickly and develop technical fluency in areas such as geospatial data, mapping, AI powered detection, or alerting systems.
Nice to have
-
Experience working on geospatial, mapping, monitoring, observability, or alerting products.
-
Experience building or contributing to zero to one product initiatives.
-
Entrepreneurial or startup founder experience.
-
Experience building AI powered products or data intensive platforms.
-
Experience in climate tech, public safety, gov tech, infrastructure tech, or mission driven technology.
-
A passion for climate resilience, wildfire prevention, environmental protection, or public safety.
