Risk Model Validation Specialist

You will be responsible to work with Consumer Financial Services Risk & Prevention team to develop data driven solutions to improve efficiency of Compliance processes. This includes:

  •  Develop an automated Sales Surveillance system applying predefined rules to identify potentially abnormal sales behaviours.

  • Development of an automated system to identify and validate potentially Suspicious Transactions based on past customer behaviour. This can be done on an on-going daily basis as well as responding to periodic or ad-hoc requests.

  • Support regular and ad-hoc reporting for AML team, Ops Risk & other compliance teams around areas such as customer on-boarding, PDPA statistics and product/channel related statistics.

  • Act as a thought leader for Compliance related analytics. Demonstrate how advanced analytics techniques – such as machine learning – could move Compliance beyond hardcoded rules type monitoring.

  • Regular interaction with compliance teams to understand their business challenges. Proactive recommendation on how you think analytics could help them achieve their goals.

  • Undertake special assignments/projects as assigned by Supervisor/Management.

Who you are

  • Have exposure to data management and analysis functions/analytical functions.

  • Have some prior exposure to analytical software tools of leading analytical software tools (such as SAS/R/Spark/Python); leading database environments (Oracle / Teradata / Hadoop / SQL); reporting tools (Power BI / Tableau / Qlikview) and/or contact management platforms (Siebel/Pega).

  • Have ability to analyse, identify, visualize and describe key trends within large datasets

  • Have some exposure on machine learning, statistical modelling, visualization

  • Have creativity to see possibilities within the data & translate into decisions and actions for non-technical business users.

  • Have good communication skills, with ability to visualise patterns arising out of data analysis and turn these into compelling stories.

  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of staff and stakeholders.

  • Have pleasant personality with good working attitude, able to work independently and has sense of urgency and able to work within tight deadlines.
