Job description
As a Senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) specializing in Automotive Microcontrollers (MCUs), you will be the primary technical interface between NXP and our key automotive customers. You will drive the adoption of NXP's Software Defined Vehicle and AI Defined Vehicle journey, providing technical support, design guidance, and problem-solving to ensure successful integration and customer satisfaction within critical automotive applications.
Responsibilities:

Customer Application Support : Required deep understanding on Automotive application and business, providing customer-facing technical support to OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and ecosystem partners for NXP Automotive MCU platforms.

Design-In Enablement : Enable customer design-in activities by guiding hardware and software integration, including Ethernet TSN, CAN-FD, and on-chip security engines such as HSE(HSM). Development & Debug Support : Support customers with system bring-up and development, including boot configuration, multi-core initialization, and integration of AUTOSAR MCAL drivers or real-time drivers(RTD).

System-Level Consulting : Advise customers on system-level architecture topics, including zonal gateway architectures, virtualization, and ECU consolidation strategies for Software-Defined Vehicle(SDV) programs.

Pre- and Post-Sales Technical Engagement : Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, proof-of-concept(PoC) evaluations, and technical training materials in support of pre- and post-sales activities.

Escalation & Issue Management : Drive structured escalation processes for complex technical issues, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.

7+ years of experience in an FAE, applications engineering, or design engineering role, with a strong focus on automotive microcontrollers.

Demonstrated expertise with embedded systems design, including ARM Cortex-M/R/A architectures.

Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems and experience with common embedded development tools (IDEs, debuggers, compilers).

Experience with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, PX5, or AutoSar OS) and embedded software development methodologies.

Experience with AUTOSAR MCAL configuration and integration.

Proficiency with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Knowledge of automotive MCU security implementation is a plus.
-
Willing to travel for customer meeting and technical training.
