Join Materials, Processes & Test department

- To perform Environmental, Health, and Safety () assessment for aerospace materials and  processes.

- To ensure global compliance, manage strategic material risks. 

- To contribute to larger Airbus objectives.

 Your Main Responsibilities

  • Substance Analysis & Chemical Mapping: Evaluate and document the chemical composition of complex aerospace materials (metallic alloys, polymers, advanced composites, and coatings) and its associated regulatory risks

  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Maintain strict adherence to global environmental regulations including REACH, RoHS, AD-DSL, TSCA and specific aerospace industry restrictions. Assess the impact of sunset chemical bans on current and future manufacturing.

  • CSRM Supply Chain Management: Identify, track, and develop mitigation strategies for Critical and Strategic Raw Materials (CSRM) to protect against supply chain vulnerabilities and geopolitical risks.

  • Environmental Stewardship & : Conduct screening Life Cycle Assessments () to quantify the and environmental impacts of materials from raw extraction to end-of-life.

  • Material Circularity & Eco-Design: Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to implement principles, maximizing the recyclability and reuse of aerospace alloys and composites.

  • AI & Automation: Understanding of how to use AI for regulatory monitoring and substance characterization, supply chain risk prediction and also collaborating with IT to implement "Eco-Design" practices and efficient data management for product-related software. 

 Who We Are Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Chemistry.

  • Experience: 6-8 years of experience in materials compliance, substance analysis, or environmental stewardship within a highly regulated industry (Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive preferred).

  • Regulations & Substance management:  Proficient with Environmental Regulations (from ,, USA,ICAO etc.), Chemical Databases, SDSs (Safety Data sheets) Authoring, Compliance data Management through Software's (CDX, IMDS, SAP etc.). Deep understanding of REACH (SVHCs) and the for Sustainable Activities. .

  • Frameworks: Practical knowledge of methodologies (ISO 14040/14044) and software (e.g., GaBi, Simapro) is highly desirable.

  • Aerospace Material and Process Acumen: Strong foundational knowledge of aerospace-grade materials, surface treatments (e.g., anodizing, chromate conversion coatings)and their respective chemical risks.

  • Knowledge on Drawing/Design Reading, BoM-BoP of Aerospace.

  • Knowledge on special processes - surface treatment, chemical conversion coatings, paints. 

  • Strong Project Management skills in a multicultural environment.

  • Good professional experiences in the area of metals and its application in Aircrafts is a plus.

  • Excellent communication.
