Position Summary
Location: Samsung Research IL -SRIL - Herzliya
Department: IT
Reports To: Managing Director SRIL
Job Type: Full-Time, hired via a 3rd party outsource company.
Overview:
The IT Site Specialist is the sole IT representative on-site, responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of all local IT systems, infrastructure, and network services. The role combines hands-on user support with technical ownership of the site’s IT environment. While operating independently on-site, the specialist works in close collaboration with and under the guidance of the corporate IT team to ensure full alignment with global standards, policies, and security requirements.
Role and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
· Act as the primary IT contact for all employees at the site, providing high-quality technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
· Manage and maintain local IT infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and cabling.
· Support the corporate R&D environment, ensuring developers have reliable access to tools, servers, and secure networks.
· Handle user account management, equipment provisioning, and access control in coordination with corporate IT.
· Implement and enforce IT and cybersecurity policies as defined by the global organization. Stay up to date with cybersecurity trends, tools, and best practices to ensure the organization remains protected and aligned with relevant compliance standards.
· Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues, escalating complex cases to the corporate IT teams when needed.
· Coordinate with global IT teams on system updates, deployments, and infrastructure projects.
· Maintain up-to-date documentation of site configurations, procedures, and inventory.
· Support meeting room systems, video conferencing, and hybrid collaboration tools.
· Monitor and proactively improve system performance, reliability, and user satisfaction.
· Backup for the servers and desktops work materials
Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications:
· Education in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 7+ years of experience in IT support and network administration, preferably in a corporate with R&D environment.
· Strong knowledge of operating systems and hands-on experience, including Windows and Linux, Active Directory.
· Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and troubleshooting (LAN/WAN/VPN/Wi-Fi).
· Familiarity with endpoint management and security tools.
· Excellent communication, problem-solving, and service orientation skills.
· Ability to work independently while staying aligned with remote/global IT management.
· Fluent in English (spoken and written) – must!
