Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated experienced Environmental Specialist to involves in leading Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (EIA/ESIA) studies, conducting baseline surveys, monitoring programs across projects and operations. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about environmental compliance, impact assessment planning with exposure to the international standards.

ERM PRACTICES:

ERM has experienced strong growth both globally and in the Asia Pacific region over the past decades and is now in a position to leverage that growth to diversity the company’s service delivery.  The company’s practices cover the following services:

  • legal services (e.g. legal advisory, Legal register, legal update, permitting), including the development and review and provision of advisories of such.
  • Audit/ – performance-based auditing including compliance audit and audit program development.
  • Phase I EDD/ ESA, and Social, and due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, IPOs, and property sales and leases.
  • and Social due diligence for project finance including reviews against international standards e.g. Equator Principle, IFC Performance Standards, ADB Safeguard Policy Statement.
  • Health and Safety Programs – Safety audits, management programs, transformation and coaching based interventions.
  • E&S Management Systems and Compliance Support – including performance-based assessment and compliance .
  • advisory and reporting – including advisory, development of reports and provision of data .
  • Client Training Programs - Accelerative learning, high impact, tailored E&S training. (For SC)
  • Sustainable Products and Supply Chain - Including product certification and litigation support.

ROLE PROFILE:

Delivery

  • Assist team in project management (e.g. project setup on ERM systems, project management tasks, etc.);
  • Participate in projects including but not limited to environmental and social due diligence assessments, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and advisory services. Tasks may include:
    • Conducting document review and research.
    • Conducting site visit and/or field audit.
    • Meeting with client and relevant parties; and
    • Writing parts or the whole report based on scope of work.
  • Keep up to date with regulations in Vietnam and international standards and good industries practices (GIP);
  • Take other appointments reasonably from Line Manager as needed from time to time.
  • Support/ Provide training and coaching

Business development

  • Support leadership team in bidding preparation, defining scope of work and approach, cost estimations, and quotation development
  • Assist leadership team in developing and maintaining relationship with clients

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline such as environmental science, environmental engineering, occupational health and safety
  • Master’s Degree in an environmental/ occupational health and safety discipline is preferable
  • Minimum of 2-years' work experience either in a consultancy or in industry or similar experience
  • Must be fluent in English, reading, writing and conversation
  • Experience in conducting due diligence assessments
  • Good understanding of international standards (e.g. IFC performance standards, ADB Safeguard Policy Statement) and guidelines, and ATSM for Environmental Site Assessment (Phase I ESA) is desirable
