Sustainability Strategy Intern
Summary of Responsibilities:
This position is for a 10-week Summer Internship. The Sustainability Summer Intern will provide support within the Corporate Social, & Responsibility (CSR) Sustainability team. This team develops and implements strategies to advance Santander's Environmental, Social and Governance objectives by measuring our environmental impact, promoting our commitment to the communities we serve and ensuring sound corporate governance policies and practices.
This 2025 Summer Internship is for undergraduate students who have an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and May 2026. This internship position is located in Boston, MA.
Essential Functions:
- Support for the calculation of financed emissions for key portfolios
- Research into leading practices for ESG reporting (GRI, CSRD, SASB)
- Research into leading practices for emissions calculations
- Provide support for the development of various ESG reporting processes
- Provide support for the creation of various US sustainability policies and procedures
Requirements:
- An undergraduate student with an expected graduation date between December 2025 - Spring 2026
- Major in environmental science, sustainability, economics, finance, accounting, political science or related field
- A cumulative GPA or 3.0 or above
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced market environment
- Solid professional and personal work ethic
- Ability to work independently on special projects
- Ability to work in an environment that supports employees from all backgrounds and fosters an environment of inclusion
Working Conditions:
- Extended working hours may be required as dictated by management and business needs
- Travel to multiple facilities may be required
- May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds
- May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time
- May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard
- Corporate / satellite office role
