Job description

Job Summary

  • Working with the Senior Sustainability Advisor to lead bank thinking and strategy development re programmatic Blended Finance
  • Originating, structuring and executing 'blended finance partnerships and platforms' across the Standard Chartered footprint
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver blended and innovative financing instruments to the client base
  • Acting as a centre of excellence for leveraging concessional financing and representing the bank at relevant industry events
  • Support the SSA in leading the growing Blended Finance Programmes team

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Nurture strategic relations with global/regional ecosystem stakeholders
  • Identify SF ecosystem needs and develop new products & services in the blended finance space
  • Innovate new ideas to support SF thought leadership and market development

Business

  • Drive activities of SF innovations hubs, focusing on blended finance
  • Develop bank-wide partnerships with MDB/DFI clients
  • Engage senior management of key clients to deliver partner/trusted advisor status
  • Represent Standard Chartered Bank at high levels regionally and internationally

Processes

  • Deliver on SF mandate in line with industry best practices and SC internal safeguards

People & Talent

  • Develop junior talent across SF
  • Build appropriate tone and expectations from the team
  • Support in employing, engaging and retaining high-quality people

Risk Management

  • Take initiative on regulatory, reputational and ethical matters
  • Embed the Group's values and code of conduct
  • Ensure Risk Management matters are addressed or escalated appropriately

  • Assess effectiveness of governance, oversight and controls
  • Understand regulatory framework and requirements

Our Ideal Candidate

  • University Degree or Equivalent
  • 10 years of experience in multi-product origination across Financial Institutions
  • Training: Practical or Academic Sustainable Finance
