Sustainability Circular Economy Manager
Your tasks
TÜV SÜD brings the trust in sustainability and thus contributes to the fight against greenwashing. We are seeking a highly motivated Circular Economy Manager to join our Product Service Division. This global role is integral to our mission of supporting companies in their transition to a sustainable circular economy. The successful candidate will be an expert in recycled content and recyclability, driving the development of innovative services and providing technical support to our clients and sales teams. This position also serves as the key reference for all circular economy topics within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead global service development and innovation projects in Circular Economy, focusing on recycled content and recyclability, from ideation to development and product ramp-up.
- Develop tailored solutions to meet clients' sustainability goals and increase market credibility.
- Maintain and enhance existing Circular Economy assurance services.
- Provide expert support to clients on Circular Economy topics, ensuring their requests are effectively addressed.
- Provide technical sales support to selected regional key account managers.
- Establish and maintain relevant sustainability technical knowledge in collaboration with internal and external experts, technical/scientific institutions, industrial associations, and regulatory authorities.
- Lead structured training programs to enable sales teams to effectively promote Circular Economy services.
- Collaborate across business units, regions, and technical departments to identify and develop sustainability service solutions.
Your qualifications
- A degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Science or similar technical sustainability disciplines. Graduate degree (e.g., PhD) is a plus.
- Experience in a professional service environment within the focus area or recycling-related industry (e.g. consulting, third-party bodies, industry and/or academic contexts).
- Comprehensive understanding and expertise in circular economy concepts and relevant standards (e.g., EN 15343, EN 15347, ISO 14021).
- Experience in validation/verification or product certification activities according to ISO 17029, ISO 14065, or ISO 17065 is a plus.
- Strong English oral and written communication skills. Further foreign language skills (e.g., French, Spanish) would be an advantage.
