Your team responsibilities
MSCI, Inc seeks Senior Associate - Physical Climate Risk Researcher in New York, NY to develop and drive models and methodologies for tailoring physical climate risk assessment to specific client segments including insurance, banks, private assets. Engage with clients and other stakeholders, particularly in the Americas, supporting our Coverage team and representing MSCI's Physical Risk Research.

Your key responsibilities
Collaborate with key clients to identify new opportunities and value added Publish cutting edge research content about climate and physical risk, including regulatory requirements, and applied industry research in the form of webinars, blogs, and research papers. Communicate complex topics in a simple way to internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to the implementation, testing and documentation of physical risk models. Work closely with research team members, development team members, and other stakeholders. Employ agile development and rapid prototyping techniques. Promote best software-engineering practices to ensure data quality. Anticipate problems and opportunities and adapt to new challenges.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Geology Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing industry experience in climate risk modeling including catastrophe modeling or re/insurance; utilizing experience in the fields of sustainable finance, including climate stress testing or Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG); utilizing experience in geospatial analysis and big data manipulation, including modelling of extreme events and natural hazards, and weather catastrophes; utilizing Python or R to perform coding and software development. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master's degree in one of the above-listed fields and three (3) years of experience in the above-listed skills. Offered salary is between $77,106.00 and $154,000.00 per year. 40 hours/wk.
