Duties and responsibilities

The Regional Environmental Manager will oversee the development and implementation of projects and initiatives aligned to client’s environmental management program and compliance reporting for Industrial and commercial facilities in .

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the single point of execution and escalation, serving as the key contact for environmental management lead to effectively implement initiatives. Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of in-scope environmental activities.
  • Responsible for the successful development and delivery of all activities related to assigned environmental data collection and compliance with the client’s environmental management system (ISO 14001), with the support of a dedicated delivery team.
  • Manage the energy, water and waste data collection process within the client’s technology platform and produce periodic (e.g., monthly, quarterly, annual) reports that are tailored to meet our client’s specific requirements.
  • Manage the periodic reporting of environmental compliance data including general, chemical, toxic and hazardous wastes based on NEA mandatory industrial waste management practices for existing industrial facilities requirement.
  • Responsible for environmental data tracking and investigation across the portfolio, delivering against targeted reductions in water, waste and energy in line with the client’s service delivery requirements.
  • Drive operational improvements though the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve environmental performance in a building-level perspective.
  • Engage with JLL facility managers to become the key point of contact for the provision of wide-ranging advice in relation to all aspects of environmental and compliance.
  • Conduct regular environmental assessment to optimize the energy, water, and waste performance for no/low-cost projects and initiatives.
  • Continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation in energy and waste management practices and exploring emerging technologies and strategies for energy optimization, waste reduction, resource recovery, and initiatives.
  • Facilitate partnerships and collaborations with key stakeholders to promote waste reduction practices and provide resources, training, and support to businesses and organizations to implement environmental management practices.

Performance objectives

  • Enhance collaboration between client and property vendors to improve environmental solutions at the operational and asset level.
  • Reliable and timely agreed deliverables and associated reports for the legal compliances.
  • Develop an actionable environmental program with quantified potential energy impacts, reporting industrial waste, and lead solution development efforts for -based challenges.
  • Provide programmatic support, implement program results, meet program needs and environmental project supports in a site-level.
  • Establish and expand recycling programs to improve the current recycling and composting infrastructure.
  • Establish program to promote environmental awareness and standards across all facilities.

Program Deliverables

  • Environmental Management Program to provide strategic alignment on local regulation of mandatory waste management practices for existing industrial facilities.
  • Recommended solutions to the client to decrease energy, waste and resource and align with energy and waste reduction glidepath.
  • Monitor variance and process in environmental performance, investigating variances, identifying, and implementing solutions at in scope sites.
  • Support of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System reporting and audit on site level.
  • Advise on waste and resource variance reporting and tracking with a list of high priority areas and provide the variance report based on those areas.
  • Environmental management program for the building to identify, justify, and help implement no/low-cost waste reduction measures at individual sites and facilitate scaling of initiatives.

Employee Specifics

  • University qualified in Environmental Engineering, Science, or other related field, with a minimum 5-year industry experience, ideally working in environmental in the industrial built environment.
  • Experience reviewing and refining technical and commercial aspects of initiatives in the built environment, preferably in the context of Facilities Management and Construction.
  • Strong environmental compliance and knowledge for industrial plant and facilities.
  • Strong project planning and environmental management skills and an ability to deliver to outcomes, prioritise and meet deadlines in high pressure environments with competing priorities.
  • Experience improving systems and processes to deliver best practice performance and use of environmental management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes.
  • Strong ability to think strategically and engage with a range of stakeholders.
