Location: In Office, Portland OR
The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:
- $134,720 - $168,400

Job Summary
The Manager, Market Design & Market Readiness is responsible for translating day‑ahead market rules, tariffs, and readiness requirements into actionable internal processes and participation frameworks. This role ensures Avangrid is operationally and commercially prepared to participate in EDAM or Markets+ in a compliant, effective, and value‑driven manner.
Key Responsibilities

Interpret market tariffs, business practice manuals, and readiness requirements

Translate market rules into:

Internal day‑ahead bidding frameworks
-
Market participation rules for generation and BA operations
-

Own and maintain the EDAM or Markets+ implementation and readiness checklist

Coordinate readiness testing, trial operations, and parallel operations

Interface regularly with Legal, Regulatory, Transmission, Trading, and Operations

Track market rule changes and ensure timely internal adoption
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, or relevant experience in a related field

8–12 years of experience in power markets, market design, or market operations

Direct experience interpreting wholesale market tariffs or implementation requirements
