Job Summary
The Bank has publicly committed to net zero by 2025 and Property have elevated Sustainability as Property's fourth strategic pillar. This role is responsible for the leadership of the pillar and the strategy which underpins the realisation of the net zero outcomes, as well as the environmental footprint of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the daily operations of the Sustainability function, including the development of policies, processes, standards and procedures, the management and delivery of Sustainability projects.
- Subject matter expertise. Provide technical expertise and specialist support on all aspects of Sustainability, management, and on key issues related to environmental and social impact assessment.
- Sustainability Management. Responsible for developing, managing and coordinating global activities, programmes and systems, to ensure delivery in a timely manner.
- Budgets Management. In conjunction with appropriate stakeholders advise on projects budget, and ensure costs are managed to maximize efficiency, flexibility and capability across the group.
- Project Management accountable for the delivery and management of Sustainability projects, including determining project priorities, based on risk and broader Bank initiatives.
- Lead and manage project working groups and steering committees. Member of (or reporting to) various Sustainability forums, committees and working groups across the bank.
- Property and Bank Projects. Remain informed of other expansion and change projects that require Sustainability input.
- Supply Partner Management. Coordination with supply partners to assist with development of the relationship with SCB, including the management of Sustainability targets and KPI's.
- Technology. Act as the primary point of contact for all technology-based solutions, that have a future focused orientation, promoting environmental efficiencies and enhanced user experience.
- Data and Metrics. Develop, coordinate and maintain Sustainability reporting (internal & external) that enables proactive risk monitoring with anticipatory reports.
- Communications. Assist in developing appropriate internal and external communications on the Bank's Sustainability strategy and progress.
- Reporting. Develop strategy and reporting systems for all scope 1 and 2 regulatory reporting requirements, including systems to capture, record and report all emissions data.
Skills and Experience
- Holds a related degree or other professional Sustainability qualifications or certification.
- Membership of recognised professional body is desirable.
- Awareness and understanding of the wider business and market environment in which the Group operates.
