Job description

ERM is looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant with experience in Project Management and environmental impact assessment to join our growing Capital Project Delivery team in Spain. For more information on the projects of the team, have a look here Capital Projects & Infrastructure (erm.com)

The job will be offered as a full time, hybrid work with possibility to work from our Madrid or Barcelona office and remotely.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop Prefeasibility and Environmental & Social Impact Assessment studies, permitting studies, EDD (mainly focused on Italian market)
  • Manage environmental critical aspects to ensure compliance with all applicable Spanish regulations
  • Ability and flexibility to work across a range of services and sectors including: Energy (Renewables, Power, Oil&Gas, H2), Infrastructure, CCSU and Manufacturing
  • Support in managing or coordinating small size projects or whole elements of larger multidisciplinary or global projects
  • Delivering multiple project tasks or components, including the development of proposals
  • Supervising project team(s) and mentoring junior personnel
  • Establishing strong working relationships with clients through project delivery
  • Supporting with commercial activities: Business Development, proposals writing and pitching

About you

  • A master degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences or other relevant disciplines
  • Experience as a project manager and generating revenues
  • Ideally 4-6 years of experience in relevant fields such as consulting or environmental services, with specific focus on environmental permitting, EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) and/or Environmental Social Due Diligence, in Spain
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English, written and spoken
  • Familiarity with International Standard (IFC, EBRD, etc.)
  • Experience with emerging energy systems (hydrogen, offshore wind, battery storage, floating solar) will be considered a plus
