Job description
Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Orange, CT (60 Marsh Hill Road)
Number of Positions: 1
Work type: Office (on-site)
The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $96,400 to $120,500.
Job Summary
The engineer will lead teams/projects that solve moderately complex problems taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Able to work independently, with guidance. Position reports to the UI DER Unit Manager and support department needs as required.
Responsibilities:

Solve moderately complex Distributed Generation (DG) problems. Utilizes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. (e.g. Customer generators, photovoltaic systems, fuel cells).

Approve, maintain, & understand drawings (e.g. schematics, one-line diagrams, site plans). Develop & specify equipment, assemble documents & other requirements for assignments of complex level of difficulty using depth & breadth of expertise in own discipline.

Manage and provide direction for resources outside of the department/company.

Possess knowledge within DG industry and interpret processes and standards related to DG systems. Recommend solutions and best practices where appropriate.

Perform standard electrical engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methodology and principles and other viable approaches. Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve problems or to improve processes/services.

Solve straightforward electrical engineering problems. Analyze possible solutions and assess each using standard procedures related to lines and power engineering.

Support technical requests from current and proposed customers with regards to generator interconnections.

Required Qualifications:

BS or BT in Engineering related field and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.

Basic Knowledge of the various operating systems and programs used by the department.
