Energy and Utilities Sector ESG Ratings Analyst
Your team responsibilities
The ESG Ratings team member researches and rates companies on a 'AAA' to 'CCC' scale based on its exposure to industry specific ESG risks and its ability to manage those risks relative to peers. The team analyses data sourced through internal and external data suppliers and follows a rule-based methodology to determine the rating. The companies rated are spread across the developed and emerging markets and range in size from large to small scale.

Your key responsibilities
- Conduct ESG ratings research by analyzing data sourced through internal & external vendors.
- Apply a rules-based methodology to determine Ratings for companies based on ESG performance.
- Focus on specific sectors, particularly Energy and Utilities.
- Track and monitor developments and trends in the sector and assess the ESG impact on companies.
- Provide guidance and review of research conducted by other team members.
- Support implementation of quality control measures.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance data quality and accuracy.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of ratings model and implementation of critical processes.
Your skills and experience
- 1-2 years of experience in ESG/Sustainability research or consulting with good understanding of the Energy/Utilities industries.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to articulate viewpoints.
- Strong communication skills - both oral and written.
- Comfortable working in a team environment across hierarchies, functions, and geographies.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics fields.
- CFA, FRM, MBA or MSc or equivalent (with finance major) is a plus.
