Watershed is a software platform that helps large enterprises measure their carbon footprint, produce ESG disclosures, and take action to reduce emissions. Its tools cover Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions tracking, water and land use, supply chain decarbonization, and reporting across major regulatory frameworks. The platform uses AI agents to automate data cleaning, emissions factor mapping, and report drafting, drawing on a library of more than 500,000 emissions factors.

Why it matters

Watershed sits at the intersection of corporate sustainability data and real-world emissions reduction. By making it faster and cheaper for companies to understand their footprint, the platform lowers the barrier to acting on that data - whether through clean power procurement, supply chain engagement, or operational efficiency. The company reports 3 gigatons of CO2e under management and has set a goal of reducing or removing 500 million metric tons of carbon by 2030.

Watershed serves more than 90 Fortune 500 companies, five of the top six US banks, and six of the top ten global private equity firms. It also co-leads the Cornerstone Sustainability Data Initiative with Stanford and ERG to make open sustainability data available to businesses, governments, and researchers.
