Smart charging and energy orchestration platform for EVs, solar, and batteries - serving utilities, energy retailers, and drivers
ev.energy provides a software platform that coordinates electric vehicle charging alongside home solar and battery systems. It serves two main audiences: utilities and energy retailers who use it to run demand flexibility programs, and individual EV drivers who use it to shift charging to cheaper, cleaner off-peak hours. The platform integrates with existing utility infrastructure and supports everything from simple smart-charging nudges to vehicle-to-grid (V2G) export, with live programs running across North America and Europe.
Why it matters
EV charging is a major and growing source of electricity demand. Left unmanaged, it tends to cluster at peak hours when the grid relies on the most carbon-intensive generation. ev.energy shifts that load - delivering up to 98% of charging off-peak - which reduces strain on the grid, lowers costs for drivers, and helps utilities integrate more renewable energy. By also coordinating solar and battery storage, the platform treats homes as flexible distributed energy resources rather than passive consumers.
The company has onboarded around 300,000 users and deployed over 55 utility programs, with more than 410,000 distributed energy resources under management.
